Reviews A Review of Current Dilatation Systems in Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty

PTCA has gained worldwide acceptance as primary therapy in selected patients. Because of repid ad vances in technology, new devices are produced on the regular basis. This article summarises currently available angioplasty technology and attempts to provide guidelines for selection of catheters and guidewires, and this information may be useful especially for the beginner in the selection of appropriate equipment for PTCA procedures.
