Atrial fibrillation and stroke: secondary prophylaxis

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is one of the most common causes of cardioembolic strokes. Anticoagulant drugs can reduce the risk of AF-related stroke in patients with moderate and high risk.The purpose of this article is to review the updated issues related to the use of anticoagulant drugs in patients with a history of stroke or transient ischemic attack.
